Problem-Solving and Solution Building
1-day workshop
Overview
Facing problems and devising solutions are critical tasks for managers and supervisors. Problems, however, come in all shapes and sizes and there is no one correct approach. This very practical, rapid-fire, hands-on workshop offers a structured approach to problem-solving, with a ‘toolbox’ of techniques to apply as appropriate. Participants can bring their own workplace problems if wished to the course to tackle instead of the case studies provided by the trainer.
What you will learn
- Know how to focus and prioritise on the ‘true’ problem and identify goals
- How to generate ideas, seeking the most effective methods to create solutions
- Evaluating courses of action and assessing risks
- Frameworks for decision making
- The skills and confidence needed for communicating decisions to others
- Methods for implementing and monitoring solutions
Delegates will receive a booklet or ‘toolbox’ of problem-solving techniques to take away from the course. They can use their own workplace problems during the day, with the support of other delegates, or can use the examples provided by the trainer to practice the techniques
