Difficult Conversations for Managers

One day workshop

Next Open Workshop - 13th October 2011

Overview

Being a manager or supervisor means taking responsibility for the performance of all your team. Too often poor individual behaviour or attitude can derail a successful team and have a significant impact on productivity. This course helps managers to find the right words to challenge poor behaviour or attitude before the situation grows worse and more formal processes are required.

What you will learn:

  • Defining good performance management practises
  • Using the words that will make others listen
  • Staying in control of the conversation
  • Giving unwanted news or feedback in a constructive way
  • Reaching an agreement and monitoring the outcomes

Who should attend?

Managers, supervisors or team leaders who are responsible for a team's performance.
