Overview

Teams are now an ever-changing dynamic.  They are subject to rapid change in their membership, their function, their management and their place in the organisation.  Yet teams are still only groups of human beings, with skills, personalities and feelings.  How can a team leader really get the best from their team when it is bombarded with change and hard-to-achieve targets?

This one day workshop is designed for team leaders, to help them to develop a framework for generating good morale, leading to good results.

  • mission or purpose - what are we aiming for?
  • background - why were we created?
  • objectives - what are the expectations on us, high level and team?
  • parameters - what are our authority or boundary conditions?
  • interface responsibilities - other teams /people to work with?

The team culture:  How to function at your best

  • How to ensure: contribution to results; accountability; communication and feedback; commitment; productive tension; trust, etc.
  • Ten fundamental values of good teams

Team problems: Dealing with the unexpected and the predictable

  • Gaps in the team
  • Conflict, internal and external
  • Setbacks

The team leader:  Confidence in the role

  • Rapid trust building and modelling
