How to save 50% on your management training with Learning 2XL

Leadership & Management Grant Funding

If you would like to apply for 50% support with the cost of our open workshops, Train to Gain will have some grant funding running from the April until the 31st July 08.

Grant support may be available for the following courses:

1st May 08: Be your own Business Consultant

15th May: Understanding and Managing Stress

11-12 June 08: First Time Team Leader(2 day workshop)

24th June 08 : Managing Absence

9th July 08: Introduction to Project Management

10th July 08 : Building a High Performing Team

You may also qualify for support with an in-house course for several managers.

Employer Benefits

  • Access to a grant of up to £1000 accredited and/or non-accredited development.  As this is a grant VAT is not claimable through this funding stream – as the services are delivered to the employer they are expected to pay the necessary VAT costs.
  • Employers should contribute a minimum of 50% (cash – not “in kind”) towards the cost of development activity.
  • Employers must be prepared to receive a holistic skills review by undergoing the established Train to Gain Organisation Needs Analysis, i.e. no light touch.  This involves a short interview with a skills broker and the completion of an application form.  You may be eligible for support with a whole range of training needs!

The small print!  -     Eligibility

  • Businesses and public sector from 5 to 249 employees (including p/time, seasonal and temporary staff) and in any sector, with an annual balance sheet not exceeding £43m and annual turnover not exceeding £50m, and is not more than one quarter owned by firms that do not comply with this. NB this includes Social Enterprises and Charities with registered trading arms
  • An SME must have financial autonomy, i.e all profits must be retained within the local business unit, therefore branch offices of large groups may be excluded
  • Businesses previously accessing L & M grants prior to October 07 are eligible
  • A Minimum of 50% completion of training must be evidenced by the 31st July 08.
  • Development activity must be a minimum of 6 hours duration.
  • Employer must be within the De Minimus threshold (less £200,000 State Aid received over a rolling three year period)

The following development solutions can not be used for this grant funding:

  • Technical training
  • IT
  • Presentation Skills
  • SAGE
  • Company Accreditation
  • Environmental Waste Management
  • Health & Safety

No funding is guaranteed until a Skills Broker has completed an ONA and it has then been checked and approved by the Contracts Team and a funding agreement has been issued.
